Run by the Seid family for over 25 years, the Chinatown Ice Cream Factory has been featured on TV and in print all over the world. "With Lychee ice cream and chocolate side by side, the Chinese contribution to the American experience cannot be denied," reads the shop's website, and a visit to the shop bears this out. Extraordinary lavors such as Almond Cookie, Avocado, Coconut, Ginger, Green Tea, Lychee (Chinese Fruit), Mango, Passion Fruit, Red Bean (Dessert Bean) and Taro (Potato-like) sit alongside the customary American flavors. Fun t-shirts and caps make great souvenirs and can be bought in-store or on their website. I am a real ice cream fanatic and I've tried every company under the sun. I'm hooked on this place. It's a definite must go to in Chinatown, espeically if you are a tourist because you might not be able to come back as often as you might want. I live in NJ, and every opportunity I get to go to the city, I always have to make this place one of my stops. I also love their t-shirts! They are so cute!
