Preparing gourmet seafood dishes is a Ming Dynasty specialty. There is a Chef’s Special Menu in Chinese only, so ask for a translation of the good stuff, including Jumbo Shrimp in Garlic Sauce and Minced Shrimp Stuffed in Crispy Bean Curd with Sautéed Conch. Chinese love to consume food with health value such as fish maw, shark’s fin, bird nest, abalone and sea cucumber. Fish Maw with Crab Meat Soup and Bird’s Nest with Crab Meat Soup gives you plenty of protein to make your skin glow. Braised Sliced Abalone with Black Mushroom and Braised Sea Cucumber with Shrimp Roe are particularly good for your health. Want something that’s non-seafood but good? Try their famous Wine Chicken and you will be pleased at the savory taste. They also have a vegetarian menu for the non-meat eaters.
Finding this restaurant is something of an adventure. Located on the second floor of 75-85 East Broadway, right behind the south building of the East Broadway Mall, you have to walk through the shopping mall to enter Ming Dynasty. A 4,000 square feet restaurant which can seat 600 people, Ming Dynasty can easily accommodate Dim Sum aficionados during busy lunch hours. The spacious and comfortable dining hall is perfect for large parties, special occasions, and wedding banquets and the restaurant is fine-tuned for handling these larger functions.
