Delicious, undiscovered Shanghainese.
Caution!!! Hot sizzling plates are just seconds out of the wok. The mouth watering Sesame Scallion Pancake and Fried Tiny Buns are must try, so are the highly rated Smoked Fish and the Shanghai Duck. The menu includes a large selection of appetizers and assorted entrees. The following dishes are recommended: Five Spice Eggplant, Fish Belly in Brown Sauce, String Beans Szechwan Style, Prawn with Chili Sauce, Fish Fillet on Sizzling Plate, Yellow Fish Fingers with Dry Seaweed, Sauteed Port and Winter Melon, and Sweet Red Bean Paste Shortcakes.
Moon House, a small, clean Shanghainese restaurant, is a hidden gem. Its name is borrowed from a famous restaurant in Shanghai, a city where the two owners learned their culinary skills. Chef and owner Mr. Jian-Hua Bu was a student of Huang Liang Ming, a renowned chef in Shanghai. Co-owner Ms. Xiu Mei Tao is from a family of restaurateurs. She learned to cook first hand from her mother, studied in a culinary institute in Shanghai and has perfected her art after 15 years of satisfying the palates of customers.
The relaxed dinning room is comfortable, a good place to try consistently fresh and authentic Shanghai specialties at prices that are gently to your budget. Not often crowded so hurry up and try this cute place before it is discovered.
