Golden Unicorn

The Food:

Choose from an array of fresh and appealing dishes at Golden Unicorn. Dim sum is prepared fresh everyday and chauffeured around by waitresses, calling out what they offer as they walk by. Be sure to stop the carts with the pork siu mai, shrimp dumplings and shrimp rice rolls. Be sure also to try their addictively good steamed pork buns. The more adventurous palates should try the savory steamed tripe (intestines) or stewed chicken feet. Golden Unicorn’s food stands out among the restaurants that host banquets. Their jumbo shrimp with walnuts in a mayonnaise sauce is a wonderful mix of textures (crunchy and soft) and taste (sweet and savory). Another specialty worth trying is the Hong Kong style salt-baked Dungeness crab. Overall, Golden Unicorn offers quality meals, made with quality ingredients. Reservations are strongly urged on the weekends, when a queue is guaranteed.

The Atmosphere:

Golden Unicorn has received more recognitions and awards than any other restaurant in Chinatown. In 16 years of operation, they’ve been recognized by metropolitan, national and international culinary professionals. However, the real proof is in the lines of faithful regulars who dine at Golden Unicorn. Ask around NYC about who serves the best Dim Sum, most people will tell you, “Golden Unicorn.” Lovingly dubbed the ‘Dim Sum Palace,’ because of its fantastic Dim Sum offerings and its gold and pink color scheme, Golden Unicorn is a great place for Sunday brunch. Beyond brunch, Golden Unicorn is a popular place for private parties and banquets. Their dinner menu boasts an extensive selection of Cantonese dishes which can be individually selected for banquet menus or choose from their pre-set menus which are available for any budget

Visitor Reviews:

"This place is very big and loud so it is perfect for families with loud children. We love going here with our children! The wait staff speaks very little English, but enough to explain what the dim sum foods they are serving are. The dim-sum is delicous and we have eaten dinner here too and the food is very good! The prices are reasonable and worth the trip!" - R.F.
