Whether you're a vegetarian or not, Buddha Bodai is a must try. With a menu of nearly 200 offerings, there’s something for everyone. Meat eaters will swear they’re eating real BBQ Beef and Curried Chicken (wheat gluten). Vegetarians will find new and delightful ways to enjoy meat-free fare with dishes like Vegetarian Snails (mushrooms) or Whole Lobster in Black Bean Sauce (shredded tofu). Buddha Bodai has dozens of creative dishes that sport names like Straw Bass with Black Bean Sauce, or Salt and Pepper Ribs with Button Mushrooms. All the dishes are artfully presented and the Spinach and Corn (thick) Soup comes to the table like a giant yin yang symbol, which is then blended and served. Finish off a great meal with their signature Mango Pudding or Green Tea Sticky Ball rolled in coconut flakes. Or for those on a tight budget, Buddha Bodai’s lunch specials are a great deal - get soup and an entrée for just $3.75.
Buddha Bodai is certified kosher and strictly vegetarian.
Good news for those who love Buddha Bodai in Flushing, but hate the long wait--Buddha Bodai has opened a branch in Chinatown. Located on Mott Street near Chatham Square, this new branch is not as big as the original in Flushing, but has a gracious air with its sparklingly crystal lights, dark wood chairs, and simply decorated dinning room. What really shines here is the quality of its food, which is as impressive as the one in Flushing. This Chinese vegetarian, certified kosher restaurant, can brag about its excellent flavors, use of diverse textures, and beautiful presentation of its unique "new generation" vegetarian dishes with a Cantonese influence.
