Rose's Gallery
In a Word or Two:
Unique art from China.
Overview
A small, hard-to-spot gallery tucked away from the main thoroughfares of Chinatown, Rose's Gallery relies largely on loyal customers and word-of-mouth to attract new customers. One regular customer is a famous photographer, who gets his work framed here.
The Goods:
Fine Chinese artwork, ranging from paintings on rice paper to embroidery on silk (from Suzhou).
The gorgeous pieces are acquired from various provinces of China. The store features one-of-a-kind works from China and offers custom mounting and framing as well as restoration of Chinese paintings. They have even sold pieces to the Tibetan House Museum. Rose Ding and her husband comb the countryside all over China twice a year to get new and unique pieces.
