A favorite destination for Feng Shui afficianados, interior designers, and gift shoppers.
How often have you walked by a store simply because you thought it was something else? From the window display, Luck Shing may seem like a gift shop for Happy Buddha & Quan Yin figurines, but if you pass by without entering, you'll miss the wonders waiting to be explored inside.
After 40 years in business, Luck Shing is a favorite destination for Feng Shui afficianados, interior designers, and shoppers. It carries one of the largest collections of Happy Buddha and Quan Yin figurines and has a wide selection of feng shui related items, ranging from colorful tea sets, flower pots and cloisonné vases to fortune cats and carved dragons. Sometimes that perfect housewarming gift or that special touch to your home can be found in the store you just passed by.
Upon entering, you will see a shelf with miniature multicolored happy Buddhas, each color representing the five elements of feng shui-Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water (which when combined symbolizes harmonious balance). Happy Buddhas, with their round bellies, are said to bring luck and good fortune. On yet another shelf are figurines of Quan Yin, goddess of mercy & compassion. You'll even see one seated in a lotus position with 24 hands-12 on each side-representing the balance of yin and yang.
On the top shelves are porcelain and ceramic vases of varying shapes and sizes, and stacked neatly on the floor are floral-designed flower pots. On the counters are pretty lacquered jewelry boxes, Sake and tea sets, Chinese tea pots, cups, chopsticks, and plate settings. There are even mini celestial dragon figurines, Chinese coins, and plenty of miniatures to browse.
