A martial arts mini-superstore BLT claims to be the oldest martial arts supply store in the city, having been around for 30 years, previously on Canal Street. As such, the store is considered an informal "headquarters" for everything related to the martial arts. Students come in to pick up the latest info on schools and masters, for which flyers are often left at the store. One of their specialties is books on almost every aspect of the martial arts, and these line shelves in the back of the shop. The staff is friendly and will answer your questions. BLT carries a vast array of training equipment, including uniforms, shoes and accessories. They also carry all sorts of weapons, including swords and sword-like objects, some of which make swords look not quite up to the task. The set of implements pictured here are miniature replicas of kung fu weapons; it makes a nice gift for $90, for the man who has everything (and doesn't want anyone to take it).
