Chinatown BID Approved Unanimously by the City Council in a 50 - 0 Vote

The New York City Council unanimously voted this past Wednesday in favor of supporting the formation of a Chinatown BID!

A BID is a time-tested/proven way to sustain clean streets. Improving Chinatown attracts more visitors and more customers to local businesses, helps keep Chinatown competitive with adjacent neighborhoods and BIDs, and makes the neighborhood a better place to live, work and visit.

Where:  MoCA, 215 Centre Street
When:  September 29
What:  Come celebrate MoCA's 3rd birthday at 215 Centre with funny and smart ladies of Asian American theater.

Growing Pains, a night of new works featuring Nora Chau, Kitty Chen, Cindy Cheung, Carla Ching, Jackie Chung, Mia Katigbak, Jen Kwok, Greta Lee, Rehana Lew Mirza, Maureen Sebastian and Ching Valdes-Aran. Hosted by The Pretty Precious Unicorns.

Where:  Brooklyn Bridge
When:  October 1st
What:  Every day, large numbers of New York City's eight million residents - one out of every five families - struggle with pervasive and growing poverty. These vulnerable New Yorkers do not have the advantages of others in education, income and health - the basic building blocks of a good life. This, in turn, hinders their ability to fulfill their potential as human beings and productive community members.

Your participation in the Bridge Walk will raise awareness about critical needs in our city and what we can achieve when we all work together toward sustainable solutions.

Peter told me his favorite place for roast pig had just closed. I said he ought to hit my favorite place, Hsin Wong (72 Bayard St). That's when he dropped a bomb on me: that was his favorite place as well!  Continue Reading
