Lion Dance

The lion is believed to drive away evil spirits and bad omens, and bring with it good fortune, wealth, health and happiness. Traditionally, the lion dance was performed during Lunar New Year to scare away a man-eating monster and bring good luck to the village. Today, lion dances can be found at celebrations including weddings, anniversaries, parades, grand openings, and more.  United East Athletic Association (UEAA) has trained hundreds of performers who have been featured in many special events and celebrations.
